Umbergaon, Dahanu and Bordi
About 180 kilometers from Mumbai, these places offer a relaxing getaway from the hustle bustle of city life.The roads leading to Umbergaon are nice for the major parts but getr slightly bumpy as you get closer to the town of Sajjan.I rode there with a couple of my friends from xbhp.com and it was a fun ride.
Don't venture alone as there is not much to do if you don't have good company.There are lots of small hotels next to Dahanu but do not expect a five star experience.
If your bike or car breaks down there are plenty of workshops in the town and atm machines can be found with ease too close to the Sajjan railway station.
Tourists are present but not in abundance thus saving the area from unnecessary commercialization.
Don't expect super urban restaurants and cinema halls or malls so do your shopping before you leave.The beaches provide ample space for a nice homely picnic.
The weather is pleasant in winters.No need to carry heavy woolens but a light jacket would be needed at night if you plan to roam around on the beach.
